📅 Days Between Dates
How to count the days between two dates
Pick a start date and an end date and this calculator instantly returns the number of days between them. It also translates that span into weeks, into whole months plus leftover days, into a years-months-days breakdown, and into business days (Monday to Friday, excluding weekends) — the number most useful for shipping estimates and project deadlines.
By default the tool counts the gap between the two dates, so 1 March to 3 March returns 2 days. If you're measuring a duration where both endpoints count — a hotel stay, a holiday, a rental — tick “include the end date” to add one day. The calculation automatically handles leap years and the different lengths of each month, so you never have to worry about February or a 31-day month throwing the total off.
Common uses
People reach for a date-difference calculator to work out how many days until a wedding or holiday, how long ago something happened, the length of a lease or contract, the age of an account in days, or the number of working days before a deadline. Because everything runs in your browser, your dates are never sent anywhere.
Does it include the end date?
Not by default — it counts the gap between the two dates. Tick “include the end date” to add one day.
How are business days counted?
Business days are Monday to Friday. Weekends are excluded. Public holidays are not deducted, since these vary by country.
Does it handle leap years?
Yes. The calculation uses real calendar dates, so leap days and varying month lengths are all accounted for automatically.
